About
Test Automation Engineer with 12+ years of experience across functional, automation and operational acceptance testing in payments (UK Faster Payments, Open Banking), insurance (group benefits) and airline enterprise systems (Oracle Fusion). I plan, prepare and run test activities, and automate with Selenium WebDriver (Java and C#), SOAP UI, VBScript and PowerShell. Lately I use AI-assisted testing, generating test cases and test data, alongside automation to cut regression and test preparation effort.
Experience
Test Automation Engineer
✈️ Client project: Virgin Atlantic Airways – Oracle Fusion People & Finance
- Built and maintained a C#/Selenium/SpecFlow/NUnit framework for Oracle Fusion People and Finance covering 350+ scenarios, cutting regression time from 10 days to 3, including manual interventions.
- Write SpecFlow feature files and step definitions that turn Oracle Fusion business processes into readable, repeatable automated scenarios, supported by reusable page objects.
- Perform functional testing of Oracle Fusion Finance and validate end-to-end flows across People and Finance; run NUnit regression suites, analyse failures, and log and track defects.
- AI-assisted testing: test cases are created from user stories, reviewed manually now and then, and uploaded automatically to Azure DevOps (ADO), reducing test preparation to a couple of hours and increasing coverage.
- AI-assisted testing: built a Codex agent that creates Oracle Fusion test data, removing tedious manual effort while raising data volume and accuracy.
- Automated test scenario creation using Codex; ran a proof of concept on AI-assisted creation of automated test scripts.
- Handle test estimation, stakeholder management and UAT coordination, along with problem analysis, test execution and reporting.
🛡️ Client project: New York Life – Group Benefit Solutions
- Automated tests using Java and Selenium to validate Claim Files before they were interfaced with FineOS and SAP.
- Performed functional testing of GBS claim creation and processing to SAP, including testing of the migration to AWS Cloud.
- Wrote SQL queries on AWS against an S3-based database to validate data extract files flowing from system to system.
Test Engineer
- Delivered functional, automation and operational acceptance testing over 8+ years, including 5+ years in the Payments Squad that maintains a Building Society’s payments processing system.
- Tested across the payments platform: Near Real Time (UK Faster Payments), Bulk Load, PPG batch, Open Banking, Image Clearing, Corporate Cheques, BACS, Hotlist scan and Identity Access Management.
- Delivered the Open Banking project in a short timeline, including regulatory complaints-handling payment features, helping the Building Society comply with PSD2.
- Tested Payments Resilience (around 20 work packages), Digital Banking Resilience, the Unisys-to-SAP account migration and the Identity Access Management migration.
- Built test tools that cut data and file preparation effort: a PPG Batch file generator (VBScript, HTML), a PowerShell reconciliation file generator and reusable Java test data extractors.
- Automated Open Banking regression with SOAP UI and Inbound Faster Payments regression with Java, JDBC and TestNG; built data-driven Selenium automation with scheduled runs, email reporting and Appium for mobile browsers.
- Implemented Agile Requirements Designer models for the Near Real Time platform, achieving 100% test coverage with minimal scenarios.
- Tested a web content management project for IBM’s own internal account.
- Planned and ran tests, reported status and metrics, supported production fixes and other squads, and coached new team members.
